Srimadh Bagawatham - Krishna’s Instruction To Udhavar Part 10

Lord Krishna continued to instruct Udhava. 'Following proper Ahara Niyamam will help develop satva guna. Do not eat anything which is too hot or too cold, too sour, too sweet or too spicy. Don’t eat leftover, don’t eat leftover food eaten by other people or food which hasn’t been offered to me. You will be able to notice the influence of the gunas by observing your characteristic. As soon as you notice the influence of rajo and tamo gunas, correct your habits.
An increase in satva Guna will make you happy, you will have clarity of thought and will be able to complete your tasks properly.
Increase in rajo guna will fuel your desires. You will seek reward for every activity you perform, you will become stingy, greedy and perform pointless activities like fidgeting.
Tamo gunam leads to confusion, ignorance and laziness.’
It is said that Udhavar after obtaining instructions from the Lord returned to Vrindavan where he exists in the form of a creeper next to the Kusuma Sarovar. Udhavar appears before true devotees of the Lord even today.
