Srimadh Bagawatham - Churning Of Milky Ocean Part 3

Calgary Peria Piratti

From the waters appeared Goddess Sri Devi Nachiar. Her effulgence illuminated all the direction. She looked like the Sun but with the coolness of the Moon. The onlookers were enchanted by her beauty. Everyone desired her. Devendra offered her a beautiful throne. The rivers competed with each other to offer their holy waters. The cows headed by Surabhi offered panchagavyam. All the herbs and flowers were obtained from the land. The parijata tree showered their divine flowers as offering. The Gandharvas sang songs and played their divine musical instruments. The rishis chanted hymns while the eight elephants filled golden jugs with holy water and showered her with the holy water to coronate her as the Divine Mother. As she appeared from the ocean, she was accepted as the daughter of Samudra Rajan; he offered her beautiful silk clothes. Lord Varuna offered her a beautiful garland. The fragrance from the garland attracted bumble bees. Prajapati Visvakarma offered her a selection of ornaments. Goddess Saraswati offered to her the most beautiful necklace.  Lord Brahmâ gave her a lotus flower and the Nâgas gave her earrings.
After her coronation ceremony, the Goddess went around with garland in hand looking for the complete person who could be her husband.
She mesmerized everyone with her beauty. She resembled a golden vanji creeper. She had an attractive stance like a deer. They watched her walk gracefully like a swan.  Her hair looked beautiful like peacock feathers. Her waist was like lightening very small and hard to see. Her shoulders looked slender like bamboo shoots. Her breasts were symmetrical and looked like pots revealing her as the mother of all. Her lips were red like the kovai fruit. Her eyes were beautiful like fish, dark and wet with compassion. As she walked around looking at those who had gathered there even the rishis wished to marry her. The rishis knew that she was the Universal Mother and yet they wished to marry her thinking that in this incarnation as she had just appeared from the ocean it would be okay to marry her. Her eyes fell upon the only one who did not seek her and wat sitting away from everyone. She took her garland and approached Lord Narayanan as He was the complete one; the Supreme Soul. She garlanded Him in front of everyone as He was the only one who did not seek her. While everyone was watching the divine wedding, she climbed on to His chest and sat on His Vakshasthalam thus forming the beautiful golden mole called Srivatsa.
Everyone felt disappointed that she hadn’t chosen them but they overcame their dissappointment and worshiped the Divine Couple.

Along with Thayar also appeared her brother the Moon.
The Lord returned to churn the ocean. He continued to churn the ocean even though He had obtained Goddess Sri Devi for whom He had undertaken the task of churning the ocean.
Next appeared a beautiful girl. She had eyes like lotus petals and she intoxicated everyone with her beauty. With the Lord’s permission, she went to the side of of Asuras as Varuni the Goddess of intoxication.
