Srimadh Bagawatham - Does the jeevatma attain Paramatma or does the Paramatma attain the jeevatma?

Continued On:
Does the jeevatma attain Paramatma or does the Paramatma attain the jeevatma?
It is the Paramatma who attains us. We are His property and He is our proprietor. If I lose a ring, the ring will not search for me or try to attain me but I will go in search of the ring. I will make efforts to find the ring and once I find it, I will be happy. Similarly the Lord tries to reclaim us as His property and for this reason He creates.  He gives us shastras to help us extinguish our karmas. He takes every effort to reach us. All we have to do is to allow Him to find us. Consider the example of a mother cat which goes looking for its kitten. Once the cat finds the kitten, it will run towards it so that it can shower its affection on the kitten. We are like the kitten and Paramatma the mother cat but when we see Him we mistake ourselves to be a mouse and run away from Him!
Take another example of a mother whale with her calf. The tiny baby calf swims to the surface to play. The mother watches the calf from below. As soon as the mother senses danger, she will rush to rescue the calf but she cannot effect a rescue if the calf swims away from her in to deeper danger. We like the calf should faithfully await the Lord to rescue us. He will definitely come to our aide like the mother whale as long as we doubt Him and swim away from Him.
The Lord has taken many incarnations to help us attain Him.
Even though Bhagawan has taken a number of incarnations, we revere the ten incarnations known as the Dasavatara. Out of these ten, Ramavataram & Krishnavataram are considered to be complete in nature. Other incarnations are taken by Bhagawan for a particular purpose. Once that purpose has been attained, Bhagawan returns to His abode. He comes down to spend time with us; in Ramavataram, Sri Rama was with us for 11,000 years and as Krishna Bhagawan spent more than 100 years with us.
It is also easy for us to relate to Rama & Krishna avatarams compared to other avatarams. Out of the two, Krishnavataram is close to us because this is the only avataram in which He gave us directives in the form of Bagawad Geetha. At the end of Krishnavataram, Lord Krishna instructed Srimadh Bagawatham to Udhavar and promised to stay as the slokams of Bagawatham. Thus by listening to Srimadh Bagawatham, we are directly experiencing the Lord. The jeevatmas exist only to experience the Lord. Other materialistic experiences only make us feel sad in the end.
