Algebraic Modelling of Lopamudra: The Astro-Geometry of Tula Kaveri Mahatmyam

Today marks the auspicious commencement of Tulā Māsa, an epoch profoundly revered across our traditions for the sacred Tulā Kāverī Māhātmyam. As millions prepare for the holy snāna along the banks of the Kāverī, I wanted to share a unique, interdisciplinary perspective on the profound celestial architecture underlying this sacred puranic history.

In my ongoing research project, I have formalised the traditional narrative of Sage Agastya and Lopāmudrā utilizing the rigorous frameworks of structural topology, special relativity, and astrodynamics. The result is a mathematically sound decryption that reveals how ancient Puranic allegories reify invariant cosmological truths.
The intention is to give our highly analytical youth the intellectual weapons they need to respect the epics, bridging the gap between modern physics and Sanātana Dharma. This is offered as an exercise in Upāsanā (intellectual contemplation) to support, not replace, Bhakti (devotion).
For the modern analytical mind, intellectual respect is the necessary gateway to spiritual surrender. By demonstrating the mathematical sublimity of these epics, this work seeks to build the rational foundation upon which deep, unwavering Bhakti can naturally mature. This work may be of particular interest to members who study the absolute alignment between Viśiṣṭādvaita Vedānta and the exact mathematical sciences.
Below is an abstract of the structural model I am presenting to the wider academic community for this holy season:
A Note on Mathematical Collaboration:

As this is an ongoing interdisciplinary endeavour to build an unassailable framework for our youth, I warmly welcome and request the recalibration, refinement, and constructive verification of these formulas from any members who are more advanced in the mathematical sciences, abstract algebra, or quantum mechanics. My goal is to ensure that the mathematical integrity of these proofs is as flawless and rigorous as the scriptural truths they represent, and I welcome your scholarly feedback to optimise these models.

A Note on the Scope of this Paper:
To clarify the scope of my research, I am not claiming to derive new axiomatic physical laws or first-principles proofs of quantum fields. Rather, my work represents a creative, engineering application of established theoretical principles—such as Everettian branching mechanics and Bethe-Salpeter formalisms—to structurally map and explain complex Puranic narratives. I view this framework as a functional blueprint designed to demonstrate conceptual symmetry and structural alignment across seemingly divergent timelines.
Executive Summary: The Structural Topology of Kāverī Saṅkramaṇa

M_k ∩ S_Rohiṇī ≠ ∅ ⟹ Occultation ≡ 1
  1. The Invariant Space-Time Manifold: By accumulating 18.51 years of the Moon's shifting orbital planes, temporal progression collapses into a permanent, solid 2-dimensional toroidal ribbon (E) wrapped around the Earth. The target star, Rohiṇī (the stellar identity of Lopāmudrā), forms a fixed, 0D coordinate pinpoint (S_Rohiṇī). Evaluating their interaction via Intersection Cohomology (the global cup product ⌣) proves that their union is an invariant cosmological fact—a timeless structural reality woven into space itself.
  2. The Out-of-Bounds Lockout (The "Disappearing" Wife): During a Major Lunar Standstill—precisely when the Sun enters Tulā (Libra) in mid-October—the Moon arrives in Taurus at its maximum possible orbital inclination. Mythologically recorded as the moment Sage Agastya leaves his wife unattended, the Moon is spatially "yanked" out-of-bounds to an extreme northern declination of +28.6°. This sudden, massive angular deviation shifts the Moon far away from the flat ecliptic alignment with the asterism Rohiṇī, rendering her isolated in empty background space.
  3. The Radiance Overflow (Kāverī Saṅkramaṇa): Because the Sun in Libra directly opposes this out-of-bounds Full Moon in Taurus, the system achieves absolute saturation. The uniform illumination triggers the Heaviside step function completely ON (ℋ(μ₀) = 1), maximising the Lommel-Seeliger scattering output. Crowning the high meridian above the Brahmagiri peaks (Talakāverī), the physical vessel (the kamandalu holding the solar flux) is symbolically tilted. This concentrated, liquid silver-and-saffron light breaks its spatial threshold, cascading down the meridian to be reified on Earth as the gushing, sacred stream of the River Kāverī.
By intentionally stripping this legend of volatile, fleeting synodic configurations and framing it within the weathered matrix of Vṛddha Gautama and an isolated princess, the Brahma Purāṇa beautifully utilises structural co-dependency to map the invariant nature of a true Rohiṇī - Soma soulmate union—proving that the underlying cosmic bond remains entirely untouched by the decay of the time-domain axis.
Furthermore, this alignment transcends the boundaries of an ordinary romantic or astronomical conjunction; it represents the ultimate metaphysical homecoming. It can be dynamically mapped either as the absolute union of the jīvātman with its fully expanded, untrammelled dharmabhūta-jñāna, or as the eternal anchoring of the soul at the refuge of the divine Pādukā. In both paradigms, the localised coordinates of transient struggle dissolve, reifying a permanent state of spiritual symmetry that sits securely beyond the reach of material modification.
Wishing you all a blessed and spiritually enriching Tulā Māsa.
