Women in Vedic Society

The Vedic Culture driven by Sanatana Dharma is the only culture that treats women as goddesses. Women are considered to be divine and are revered. Violence against women was strictly prohibited. It is still believed that anyone who harms a woman will face severe misfortunes. Even today, in most of the Indian families the household finances are handled by women. The final approval on any subject has to come from the lady of the house. It is strongly believed that only those families will prosper where the women are treated with respect. Hindus in general have been blamed for the mistreatment of women when in reality the Hindus during the Vedic age worshiped women and considered men and women to be equal.

To be continued tomorrow.
